                                                      GRIEVING

When a loved one dies, be it an adult or child , we need to establish the significance of that loss and the significance of that loved one. The first step in the grieving process is to establish the personal significance of that loved one. It is almost as if we must take into account what we have lost before we can grieve. We need to talk about that person; we need times of remembering and what they meant to us.. Grief comes in waves and it comes in ripples. These remembrances hurt and yet they heal, for they are establishing significance so we can move on. One of the ways to deal with grief is to take action.   Often ceremonies associated with birth and death express love, and honour the uniqueness of the person or lost child so they can speak for us when we have no words to say, when we are too upset to speak.

Ceremonies matter.

Ceremonies heal..
